Well...I have heard that the RTW rules have been changed so you can not do Ping Pongs anymore to boost your segments...
Arh well it was fun while it lasted...
I guess Empress can save himself from 200hrs on a dash 8..
So..Not to mention any names cause that would be un-polite...
But if you sell stamps and live in Sydney.!
Thank you..
So what can you spoil for us in 2003
Has the change already been made or will it be in the next update of the rules?
MSN, no hard feelings but Who p***** in your Latte today? I think some of you need to chill out here.I see much more blunt direct exchanges on other threads on FT,so why the excitement here?
Non taken. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/biggrin.gif I'm not really the latte type either, by the way. I am a ardent believer in straight talk, but I would like to see the combatants here duke it out in a separate thread so that I can ignore them or watch from the sidelines without wasting my time parsing through countless threads with this ongoing running battle.
Just the facts ma'am! http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/biggrin.gif
Since when is adding context and history on FT "crap"? Maybe to you, parnel, anything that sheds light on complexities is ripe for an abusive retort. But your abuse of me is really wearing thin... which is obviously your intent with each and every barb you hurl.
There is a difference between debate and honest disagreement. Your bully tactics from the moment you arrived on FT are typical of what can be expected from people who refuse to acknowledge the value of open expression, debate and the exploration of ideas. Your personal attacks on me have continuously violated the Terms of Participation in this community. You continue to refer to me using terms like "Pinko" and similar words you believe to be slurs when you know nothing of my personal political beliefs. You have consistently made comments which, on other fora, would have resulted in your being barred from FT either for a period of time, or forever. I have thus far not referred your abuse of me to Randy, but am putting you on notice, effective today, that a single further derrogatory, personal insult posted here by you will result in such a referral.
You may consider this yet another pompous post on my part, parnel, but I have really had it with your inanities and will seek redress by whatever means are appropriate.

"No more than 28 sectors permitted in an entire journey."
The info about the RTW has been updated 7th of october and I guess this is the update they have done.
Later, in my car, it hit me that the problem here is not with us, but fear of those that may be watching. For example, there is the thread that is running about getting the 20 segments. A guy wants to go from YOW to YYT and come back midweek. I know how he can do it for $977 with 10 segments, but I don't dare publish it on the forum for the reasons which you probably expressed. It is a very sophisticated trick and I didn't learn it until my 15th year in the travel biz, which I've been in and out of since 1973. I've tested it and it works in Canada, the US and Australia for sure. Some of you may know it.
The solution is a password-protected subsection, by invite or screening only, like they have on pprune, for mathematically-inclined folks like ourselves who like to toy with the permutations of rules, end-on-ends, etc without fear of, in this case AC, doing what they would do.
If anyone else here believes in transparency, then perhaps a solution can be found so that we can indeed have free speech on sensitive topics.
Back on topic:
Ferrari, please post a link or some sort of information beyond "I have heard - "
Thank you. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/biggrin.gif

But, as your on the point OZ....
Like normal you don't get the post, you just shoot from the hip...
I was not really interested in the former post about the ping pongs, and for your information I have not done one, I did know someone who had it planned.
I make my 200k the hard way...
The point is this....
By posting the information in great detail, you and others like you put the opportunity at risk.
I can't stop you, but its going to lead to the starting of underground networks with each forum...
We , and I mean the collective FT we...
Have to be careful how we deliver this info to the groups...
I won't be posting anymore on this topic, you ..hopefully understand where I am coming from...
I also think that many bright ideas don't get posted but are sent to the ones that can buttons ones lips..
Gooday!..

So...after the many post about "should you post or not"...I refer to the recent RTW postings from some members which resulted in me getting my hand slapped from the pussies in the Moderators camp! ...
Well...I have heard that the RTW rules have been changed so you can not do Ping Pongs anymore to boost your segments...

Ferrari, your post above is insulting to me, and I ask you to edit it ASAP please. Thank you.
I am not sure that referring to Craig6z as a 'moderator pussie' (sic) is such a bright idea either, but that is for others to judge.
For the benefit of those who do NOT understand what Ferrari is ranting about here, his apparent method of making Elite by flying short AC Vancouver-Victoria etc segments on a RTW has been plugged. And you know something Ferrari, it will have been tightened for one reason. They detected someone actually DOING it, not simply talking about it on a BB. So if the loophole is plugged, you clearly have yourself to blame is my take as clearly you (not me) were DOING this "ping pongs" to get status. Correct???????????
Ferrari posted continuously like a maniac on my thread here:
http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/Forum1/HTML/007262.html
The Moderator (not to mention others) requested he edit most of his posts.
Something else to think on Ferrari, before you (hopefully) consider editing above is this commentary on the deal by Ken hAAmer in the referenced thread:
Ken hAAmer posted:
No more than one person will ever successfully pull this off. Ever. I'll even put money on it.
I'll wager USD$100 that no more than one person will pull this off, because soon as they do, the airlines will kill it. Kill it dead. (Frankly, I think it'll happen well before anyone tries it.)
I do hope you and Ken have discussed that $US100 Ferrari?

The likely reason for the change was more so abuse by one or more people who may have hit on the idea, and actually used it to do all their local commuting, while at the same time having a nice vacation once a year. I don't think you can pin this one on OZ.
No offense taken, I have a very thick skin... http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif.
As soon as i get back to YVR 15th, I will email you privatly regarding part of your post.
Did anyone actually book a RTW ticket with xxxx segments?
Has the change already been made or will it be in the next update of the rules?
This strategy doesn't really work. There's a cap on the number of segments even before the rule change. Since the airline has to calculate taxes for each segment, the ticket can only fit in so many segments.
As for the rule change, it was only mentioned by someone once on FT.
kempis - since you have access to the most up to date rules, maybe you could check it out for us?
The hallmark of this forum has been the tone

This is not the Canadian way. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/biggrin.gif

Who was insulting who?
Um, I was pointing out the name calling amongst yourselves, as a bystander, not calling each of you by those names.

This is not correct. At least it wasn't in my case. My first problem was that the fare calculation you mentioned did not fit to the actual ticket, and Amadeus couldn't print the ticket. As a result I got a hand-written ticket (seven 4-coupon ticket wallets stapled together) from SAS and a fare calculation sheet attached to it. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif
Ironically my RTW was exactly 28 sectors but the only problem I see with more segments is that the agent's hand might be a bit more sore after the writing process http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/biggrin.gif
Parnel: This is rude. It would be appreciated if you could post without insulting people.
Who was insulting who? Read MSN's post first please;and I said it wasn't personal and put a smillie at the end of it. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/biggrin.gif
I also notice SH has not been polite enough to remove the longer link above since Empress and I showed how to shorten and in fact did it for him
[This message has been edited by parnel (edited 10-08-2002).]
I did NOT mention the details...
I just asked if it could not be posted..
someone else posted the details ..in every detail...
Anyways..its stopped.!.
