What is the world wide total number of ?RACING? drivers who race using 4 wheel vehicles? I am not interested in "regular" drivers only racing drivers. I would like the information broken down according to the following CUMULATIVE breakdowns: (a) PER COUNTRY listed on the FIA web site http://www.fiacommunications.com/thefia/Membership/index_members.html - If you cannot provide this for all countries, I would ask for the following countries/regions: North America (USA, Canada), Western Europe (UK, Germany, France, Italy, Spain, Portugal) and Japan. (b) PER RACING SEGMENT + Name of sanctioning body in each country http://www.fiacommunications.com/sport/Championships/2006.html If no information for all the segments in each country then for the biggest segments in each country (in terms of number of drivers) (c) # OF PROFESSIONAL VS. # OF AMATEUR DRIVERS (amateur = sometimes referred to as "grass roots" drivers). Professional will those racing for a living. Amateurs would be those racing for "fun". This is the most important part of the question. (d) IF POSSIBLE, all the above broken down by: Age ? under 15; 16-18; 19-30; 30+ Sex Sex by age Search strategy: - You might want to search sites of FIA member clubs like for the USA at: http://www.fiacommunications.com/thefia/Membership/North_America/index_usa.html and http://www.accusfia.us/member_clubs.html. These lead to sanctioning bodies? sites that might have details re number of drivers? - A good indicator might be the number of registered license holders in each country/segment etc. because in order to race one needs a special license?
