Must reduce dominance below 80% to avoid re-regulation.
Must slash costs.
Must rationalise routes.
Must kill Tango quickly enough to avoid conflict with summer charter operators and have Low Cost running before possible strike action due to item 3 (above).
Must fire marketing department.
Must make high cost mainline business high value - go for business J class customers and screw the numbers down on freebie flyers.
Must rebrand the company, new uniforms and trim.
Must make deal with Ottawa - will shut down airline with item 3 if needed - mutually assured destruction is only tactic left - must have staff, public, politicians ready for "fatal strike" - compare AC to Canada 3000.
Will create new airline with top quality and impecable service at 60% of current size and Low Cost Co get the rest with employee co-ownership with AC central holding.
Will right the ship before 2002 is gone - and Robert Milton with it.

What if? Short term pain for long term gain? Could he do it, if he does indeed have a plan? I think there has to be a plan, so big, so ominous, that no one dare speak of it. Go for it Mister Milton!
FYI, the Envoy Cabin is usually staffed with all women - and they're from rural Pennsylvania and North Carolina http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif
For two years I have been a Superelite !...what that's worth....you fly 100k with one airline and the reward is to take away your benefits, lower the threshold...Have they got any idea what we have to endure to fly 100k..(150k in my case).its painful to say the least....Rude arrogant staff, **** food, overpriced flights (If you want to get 100% reward)...
Please suggest that along with all the other changes, the name is changed to stupidelite...cause that's how I feel.!!
1) Must forget that AC has dominance of 80% and focus on Delivering QUALITY Service.
2) Must invest in long term profit making, not detrimental to the customer.
3) Must expand to give better service even to smaller communities, where the communities would pay for air services like in the U.S.
4) Scrap LCC and expand Tango to higher frequency and also short haul routes-point to point.
5) Change marketing firms and give AC a New Image-after all this is a New Air Canada.
6) Look up to Fortune 100 Companies
7) Serve top notch meals to ALL Business class passengers on flights 1.5 hours and more.

Sounds great Al, when are you moving over to service AC passengers?

My view of a good plan:
1) Must forget that AC has dominance of 80% and focus on Delivering QUALITY Service.
Is this to cover up the fact that a business with 80% of the market can't make a dime...wakey wakey ...
2) Must invest in long term profit making, not detrimental to the customer.
So lets take away the FF benefits, lets stop giving the cattle food, lets put 50 year flight attendants on the aircraft that don't give a ****....yes this makes for a good customer service plan
3) Must expand to give better service even to smaller communities, where the communities would pay for air services like in the U.S.
Lets drop our pants every time we have bit of serious competition until they go out of business, then continue to piss the client off with higher prices that have no other choice but to fly AC....
4) Scrap LCC and expand Tango to higher frequency and also short haul routes-point to point.
Scrap LCC cause the government won't let us.....come on you gave us 60 million, please let us piss it away with the other 10 million !
5) Change marketing firms and give AC a New Image-after all this is a New Air Canada.
What marketing firm, Homer Simpson could do better, no offence Homer....and as for a new image, maybe one with out the Milton....How's this for a new slogan....How can we sore with eagles when we are run by turkeys
6) Look up to Fortune 100 Companies
Yer that would be a good idea....about 10 years ago.!
7) Serve top notch meals to ALL Business class passengers on flights 1.5 hours and more.
That will save a fortune.....who in there right mind would pay to fly in business, and you put a block on anyone getting upgrades...so good plan.....side issue....for a $4000 ticket I would expect a lap dance and a BJ..!!
My view of a good plan.....GET REAL !
