I have a problem in my excel spreadsheet in that some of the gridlines keep disappearing. I think it may be connected with some comment boxes. If I highlight the relevant cells, the gridlines return. Any ideas how I can stop this from happening?
I am using excel 2003. Thanksthanks for this. It should work shouldn't it. However, the comment is formatted to no colour. If I move over the cell to see the comment, I can see the gridlines through the comment, but when I move away from the cell, the comment box disappears, but then so do the gridlines!! It's driving me mad!! :upset:When you say "highlight the relevant cells" do you mean select, or do you mean fly over with the cursor (assuming comments are not already exposed on current sheet)? Also, you only have comments, right - not actual text boxes? And by "no colour" do you mean "no fill" as Big Pat described, or are you speaking of the font colour (for which "no" is not an option)?
I'm not trying to beat up on you. I agree that something undesirable is happening here and just want to be straight on the specifics.By default, text-boxes will hide gridlines, because rather than typing something in the cells, you've got a text-box that sits OVER the grid. If you MOVE the text-box do the gridlines re-appear?
If this is the problem, and you want to retain both the grid and the text-box, then you need to format the text-box. Right-click it and choose Format text box, then find the Colors and Lines tab. Select the "Fill" dropdown and choose "No Fill". Click OK and you should see gridlines, because now your text-box is transparent rather than white.#If you have any other info about this subject , Please add it free.# |
