  • It didn't take very long - someone's already listed the 250 mile offer one ebay, see http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=5665426811&ru=http%3A%2F%2Fsearch.ebay.com%3A80%2Fsearch%2Fse arch.dll%3Ffrom%3DR40%26satitle%3D5665426811%26fvi %3D1

    I love this part

    Shipping insurance
    US $2.00 Optional

And why does the seller have a very limited supply?

    Quantity: 3 available

  • Complain and yee shall receive...

I just waited 1 more week and I recieved my 2500 miles, plus a suprise, an extra 2500 miles. Wow, that was awesome, thanks Lincoln/AA.

  • awesome and so easy!

  • The seller's printer must need a new toner cartridge. :D

But.. it's an electronic form you fill out.
    :)

  • Thanks for the offer. Nothing like free activity to get my husband's expiration date changed to 2009!

    *********************

At the top of the confirmation page it says:
"you should be receiving your 250 AAdvantage® bonus miles shortly. "

    The fine print says:
"Please allow 8–10 weeks for posting of miles."

Wow, I did not know shortly was that long.

  • Good for you guys, I showed up at the dealership, and when I informed the salesman of my intention, he starts bugging me about changing my car (even though my car is less than 2 years old), get a second car for myself, or maybe a second car for my wife, parents, niece, dog, cat and goldfish.

Guess the car must not be selling that well, which doesn't surprise me at all. I sat in the car for a few minutes, and as an entry level luxury, it just doesn't compare with the likes of the CTS, Acura TL, or Lexus ES. Even a Maxima is more appealing if you ask me.

  • Many thanks OP. Filled out the form for 250 miles. Not sure I'll do the test drive. Would probably burn a few dollars in gas money. At 1.4 cents per miles, 2500 miles is 35 dollars, so maybe I will. But time is a factor as well. We'll see. tls

  • I signed up for the 250-mile Aadvantage Lincoln promotion 2 weeks ago and my miles still have not posted to my AA.com account... Does anyone know how long it takes for the 250 miles to post?

My 250 miles had posted within a few days -- it was really quick.

  • A very good and extremely easy 2750 AA Miles. Oh! I would love them, but I don't fly AA. If only UA or NW had something like this.

  • Just swing by a dealership and be truthful... I did, and was in and out of the dealership in in 2 minutes..... 1 minute which I spent looking at a Ford GT in the showroom.

    i did the same

saleman asked me if i was interested in buying a car
i said no, but i'll do a test drive if neccesary for the signature
he asked me what kind of car i drive
    i said honda
he left and came back a minute later with the cert signed

  • ... since I have absolutely no plans on buying a new car any time soon.

Neither we have any plans on buying a car anytime soon :D

  • So you're saying you didn't receive the 5,000 mile form at all, you sent in the 2,500 mile form, and they posted 5,000 miles??

Yes, that's what I am saying. I reponded immediately to the original offer of 2500 miles.

  • Is there a phone number to call if you didn't get the test drive miles credited?

  • Thank you very much.

  • I sent in a 5,000 mile form and today I was credited with only 2,500 miles. What should I do?
Did you receive an email targeting you for the 5k offer? If not, there's not much you can do. There are several reports in the AA forum of people who were not targeted for the 5k offer who sent it in anyway and only got 2.5k.

  • Which raises the question of where should notice of these kinds of offers be posted? Is it a Site with Points and Miles(SPAM) or is it an AA only datum?

Since this is about miles, and very easy miles at that, I think this belongs in MilesBuzz. However, far be it from me to put a duplicate post there and suffer the rath of the moderators. Maybe someone else will take the risk.

It is on my website, which may be enough...

  • Im in Australia and they dont sell lincolns

Americans should envy your access to Holden SS Utes. I wish I could get one with left side steering wheel. :D

  • welp - i know where im going tomm... i just booked a few flights, so these 5k will come in handy!

i guess am i better off going for 2500 assured or risking it for 5k :)

  • I went by my local Lincoln Dealership today and was up front with the sales manager. I basically told him I didn't want to waste his time, and if he didn't sign it, I'd just go to the next dealer 2 miles down the road. He was really cool and signed it and sent me on my way.

If I'm ever in the market from a Lincoln, he's got my business

  • ...and it usually works! ^
(especially on a busy saturday afternoon) ;)

Good to hear! Might even be a nice thing to give the salesman a little tip for his trouble.

  • ...Get 250 Points - Click Here (http://secure.lincoln.com/aa/register.asp) and fill out the form....

    These points posted today. ^

  • I didn't know you could transfer AA into Hilton! Guess I'll be at the Lincoln dealer this weekend since the 2,500 would put me over 5K on AA, and I'll transfer those to HH. Cheers.

  • The 250 miles posted today! Thanks OP!

  • Since this is about miles, and very easy miles at that, I think this belongs in MilesBuzz. However, far be it from me to put a duplicate post there and suffer the rath of the moderators. Maybe someone else will take the risk.I was thinking this yesterday myself. I'll take the hit for the team... ;)

  • Thanks alot ! :D

    ^

  • This offer has different terms from the previous one, I don't see why you can't earn both. :D

  • "We're sorry the online demo offer is no longer available, but you can still earn your American Airlines AAdvantage® bonus miles by test driving or purchasing a new Lincoln Zephyr.

I just successfully filled out the form from the original post for the 250 miles. I don't think I'll have time to do the test drive since I have absolutely no plans on buying a new car any time soon.

  • Geez... I don't even know which thread to post in anymore! I got my form signed tonight... not a big deal for me, since I live 5 minutes from a dealership. Told the guy up front I just wanted the form signed... out in less than 2 minutes.

  • Thanks!

  • Checked mine---posted. Thanks

  • Thank you for the last three reponses. Followed them.

  • more miles for a little leg work

  • According to someone in one of the other related threads, it's already been posted on ebay.

  • Was this qualified by being of driving age or in majority?

This is stated on the first page of the link provided in post #1:
Must be 18 years of age or older and have a valid driver's license.

  • Yeah I guess I'll have to do that. I hate these test-drive offers since I always feel funny just asking for the promotion without taking the test drive. But I also don't want to waste the salesman's (or my) time since I have no intention of buying a new car any time soon.

  • Nice! thank you

  • My husband is reluctant to do these sorts of deals with me. :td: He asked me to take him to pick up his car at the Chevy dealership in San Antonio which happens to be across the street from the Lincoln/Mercury dealer.

He agreed that he would stop by to let me ask about a test drive. As I approached the salesman hubby hung way back. The salesman was very kind and understanding. He signed the two forms. He told me he appreciated my being upfront about not wanting a test drive at this time. Sheepish husband and I were on our way in two minutes. I did get the salesman's card and will happily recommend him should the opportunity arise.

Brought me closer to one million on AA! ^

  • 5000 miles posted to my AA account today. ^

I actually sent in the signed cert for 2500 miles.

    Thanks OP!!!

  • They offer 5000 miles now:
    http://www.aa.com/content/images/eSummary/Partner_Offer_Pages/Retail/Lincoln/LincolnSplashMarch06.htm

  • Always worth a try...thanks!

  • Anyways, I will edit this post and remove the Dealer Code if FTs start posting that this is unethical :(

Well, count my vote as "unethical." Your posting will lead to forgery and fraud. These test drive programs are great tools to get free miles. Cheating them will certainly devalue the worth of these programs and may lead to fewer of them being offered.

As noted by almost everyone, following the rules takes only a few minutes. A visit to the dealership has a value to both Lincoln and the dealer, whether one takes a test drive or not. If someone says the dealer is too far away, that is a personal choice based on that person’s own cost/reward valuation of the program.

    Cheating is cheating. YMMV.

  • Went into the Lincoln dealership in DE, told the nice salesman I was there get the offer signed and told him I woudn't mind test driving the Zephyr if he insists. He asked me if it was for the gift card or miles and then proceeded to sign off on the sheet. Took all of 3 minutes.

    Gift.... card...?

Did you get the details??? :p

  • Ah, here's the thread. I was hoping someone would find it. Mine also posted tonight, but I told everyone in the 5K thread.

did it post as 2.5 or 5K? were you targetted?

  • Thanks OP !
Anyone do this in Canada with success ?
    cheers,

  • Hey IceTrojan,

Thanks for the clarification. With so many free miles at stake, I'm going to give it a shot. As a 26 year old in a Lincoln dealership, I hope they don't give me a hard time.

    Lots.

Here's the thing... I'm guessing that the "orig certs" clause was meant as a condition of acceptance AFTER you mail them (because they don't want you to send photocopies). In any case, an original signature will make any document "original," a concept that apparently many car dealers/managers fail to grasp.

  • Wow... what dealership was this at? Remind me to never send them my business.

I agree about the car... of the Mazda6 Quints (Mazda6, Ford Mondeo (Europe) , Ford Fusion (US/CDN Version), Mercury Milan, Lincoln Zephyr) it's my least favorite. If I had to pick any of those cars, probably the Mazdaspeed6 or the Milan.

  • My initial 250 miles also posted within a few days. At the Lincoln dealership, the person I talked to didn't question the internet-printed form, but he did expect me to actually do the test drive. In the end, the salesman did the driving .(Maybe they didn't want to risk their Lincoln to my driving). Nice car. I hope the miles post.

  • Great find. Look forward to testing the Zephyr.

  • Good enough point -- I'm not full of qualms about it, but I'll keep a blank one in the car andif I pass a Lincoln dealership, I'll pull in. If I don't get a chance and the end of the promo is bearing down on me, it'll be the borrowed code on my forms.

Forgery and fraud? Those are pretty specific legal terms that don't necessarily fit into this situation. While I agree that the ethics are suspect for some, and it may be against the companies' intentions/rules, that doesn't make it illegal.

    peace,
    ~Ben~

    seoulmanjr:

"... it'll be the borrowed code on my forms...." .... and you have to 'sign' it!

    Don't do it! Never!

I went today to the first dealer. They didn't have a Zephyr ... SOLD OUT.
Went to the next dealer about 20 miles away. They also SOLD OUT, but had one .... I know this dealership, they are the largest Lincoln dealer in the Nation, and I have purchased 5 Lincolns from the salesman, who is 82 and has sold the most Lincolns worldwide, he is in the Guinnes Book of Fame. BTW, I was the first prospect who showed up with this test drive promotion.

  • How much spam email/bulk postal mail do you get for signing up for these things?

  • That's certainly my plan....and it usually works! ^
(especially on a busy saturday afternoon) ;)

  • Which raises the question of where should notice of these kinds of offers be posted? Is it a Site with Points and Miles(SPAM) or is it an AA only datum?

In my opinion, given the description of the SPAM forum being for sites with points or so-called "alternative" forums, I'd opt for the AA forum over SPAM, were I to post it myself. Other people's mileage may vary, however.

    Mike

  • well it appears I can do the 250 for each member of the family, I didn't see where it said one per address (plus it took everyone's name and address with the same email and same address). Looks Like I'll have to test drive a car next week. It does say must be 18 but how would they ever know. My less than 18 kids are always getting credit card offers from AA and CB. So I can't believe Lincoln knows how old they are

They're gonna know because they ask for your driver license before you take a test drive.

  • Although I recommend going to the sign up page via aa.com. The link to the sign up page you provided is not to a secure page.

  • Our 250 survey miles posted yesterday. My family and I did the Lincoln survey about three weeks ago. I was beginning to wonder. Now.... if only the 2500 AA miles would show up.

  • Anyone else still waiting for the 250 miles to post? I know it says 8-10 weeks, but many others seem to already have the miles in their account...

No, they haven't posted for me, either, and it's been about a week. Maybe it's a Massachusetts thing :)

My local dealer was happy to sign the certificate without a test drive. But, as she went off in search of the dealer number, I took a walk around the showroom, and saw no Lincolns. I think they might only carry Fords, although the dealership came up on the Lincoln website when I put in the zipcode.

As Example A of the paranoia that springs from the relentless pursuit of free miles: do you think they (they=AA, Ford, THEM!) may deny me the miles if they realize I couldn't have actually driven a Lincoln because the dealership doesn't stock Lincolns?

It may take me a while to respond if there is a reply, as I'll be safely jammed inside my tinfoil hat :D

  • .......Dealer signed several forms for me - they'd never seen these. Going back later with another stack. ^

I wonder how long before these start appearing on eBay (not necessarily from this FT'er). Seems like if you could get a dealer to sign several of them it would be fairly easy to make some $$$ on eBay if they would allow the auctions.............

  • Posted here. Being lazy with the form though :(

  • Must be that big battle between Germain and Scanlon!

The ebay seller is peddling electronic forms, but he only has three? Now, that's hilarious! :D :D

Anyone else still waiting for the 250 miles to post? I know it says 8-10 weeks, but many others seem to already have the miles in their account...

  • So is the 250 point link gone? All I see is a pdf form to print out.

  • He's getting really mad about this, anyone have any suggestions? As of now, he's going to swing by Fajardo Ford/Lincoln on Monday morning and speak to a sales manager about this, since all that was required was a test drive- nothing more.

What was their reasoning for not signing the form? It's a waste of his time, but I agree that he'll need to go back on Monday and talk to the manager, who will probably sign it with no hassle.

  • I thank you.
    My wife thanks you.

We'll see if the kids thank you in about 8-10 weeks!

Well, the kids thank you too!

  • There already ARE threads in MilesBuzz AND AA :D

But yeah, you got a dumb dealership. A) never buy from them, and B) you can use those forms you print yourself. You should've just said, "Can you just humor me and fill it out anyway?"

  • So is the 250 point link gone? All I see is a pdf form to print out.
"We're sorry the online demo offer is no longer available, but you can still earn your American Airlines AAdvantage® bonus miles by test driving or purchasing a new Lincoln Zephyr.

  • Has anyone gone to a dealer & said I'll test drive if you want me to but I'm really not in the buying mode/would you sign this cert? The sales rep might not want to go through all the sales motions if s/he know you're not interested. They might just it to save their time.

    Hi Sharon,

Some folks reported doing it that way last year when Buick offered a Marriott Rewards $100 Bonus Buck certificate for taking a test drive. That's not how I got mine, however; I don't mind driving a nice car even though I haven't found any yet that beat the brand I buy.

I don't suppose it's impossible, though, and as I said, I do enjoy driving a nice demonstrator.

Thanks to the OP for the tip.

  • Then possibly the reverse could work =depending what their computer shows for the promo you received.

  • thanks OP ^

  • I sent in a 5,000 mile form and today I was credited with only 2,500 miles. What should I do?

  • They offer 5000 miles now:
    http://www.aa.com/content/images/eSummary/Partner_Offer_Pages/Retail/Lincoln/LincolnSplashMarch06.htm

    What the deuce?!

So... should we "take" another test drive for 5000 mi?

  • Thanks....great find.

It might even be worth going on a test drive for 2500 miles ^

  • To follow up on my own post, my Lincoln Zephyr miles posted today. After the eShopping miles roamed in and out of my account, I believe they somehow shook the Zephyr miles loose after 3 weeks.

Have they posted for you as well, lmagnott?

Yes, my 250 miles posted on Friday, I think.

  • That's the dictionary definition, not the legal ("real world") one, which was my point. If you read my post above, you'd see that I essentially agree with you, but think it's silly when people start talking about these things in terms of "mail fraud", "theft of services", etc in FT threads with made-up legalese.

Fine.. that is the dictionary definition.
Would you like to tell us the legal definition and explain how getting the code and dealer name second handed and using it to fill out a form to get 2500 miles is not fraud, in a legal sense?
    peace,
    ~Ben~

  • How much spam email/bulk postal mail do you get for signing up for these things?
    i've gotten absolutely none

  • Visited the local Lincoln dealership today. They have sold out of Zephyrs. The sales manager, however, said, "Well, come on in, young lady (he needs his eyes checked) and let's just fill that out for you. We'll call you when we get a Zephyr in and you can come by and look at it."

  • eAAsy points renewing all accounts for another 36mo's!!! Thanks!
Dealer signed several forms for me - they'd never seen these. Going back later with another stack. ^

  • I don't think I'll have time to do the test drive since I have absolutely no plans on buying a new car any time soon.

Just swing by a dealership and be truthful... I did, and was in and out of the dealership in in 2 minutes..... 1 minute which I spent looking at a Ford GT in the showroom.

  • My 2,500 just posted. Mailed the certificate on February 15. I was not targeted, just followed the advise in the first post...

    Thanks to dlouise37 ^

Well, this offer wasn't targeted. It's on the aa.com website for anyone to view. The 5000 mile one is the targeted one.

  • Thanks :D

I know im not flying on AA this year so these 250 extra miles will help me :D

  • Great deal!! Thanks

  • Fraud = deception deliberately practiced in order to secure unfair or unlawful gain.

Deception => filling in the dealer code yourself.
    Deliberate => you did it.
Gain => Miles, which are worth a monetary value to both you and Lincoln (who probably bought the miles to hand out).

In any case, the REAL WORLD reason not to do it is, we don't want to give AA partners a reason NOT to do promos like this again, for fear of "cheaters." Really, it took me 2 minutes of my time to get 2500 miles... everyone should too, it ain't that hard.

That's the dictionary definition, not the legal ("real world") one, which was my point. If you read my post above, you'd see that I essentially agree with you, but think it's silly when people start talking about these things in terms of "mail fraud", "theft of services", etc in FT threads with made-up legalese.

  • We found the one. We drove up in our 2006 Chrysler 300C and handed her the paperwork. We asked if we really need to drive since we didn't need a new car - she said yes. Took 20 minutes for both of us to drive and get it signed. Still worth it to get 10,000 miles between us.

Did you both get the special 5,000 mile e-mail?

  • Anybody wanna help me out here?

    ~Ben~

Ok... so I actually test drove the Zephyr and I might add that though I've never considered purchasing a Lincoln, I was impressed by the elegance of the car.

Anyways, I will edit this post and remove the info if FTs start posting that this is unethical :(

Well.... here you go seoulmanjr, this dealer is in Hayward, CA

    edited to remove info

  • After I printed out form-blank-on Internet, I took it to Lincoln Dealer and they said it needs to be form generated from AA and filled out by AA, and mailed by AA to you. Then you bring it into dealer for their signature.
Based on all prior posts this appears to be erroneous. ?????

No big deal. Just fill it out yourself and send it in! :D

  • Thank you--hopefully these miles post-will be enough to keep one of our accounts active for another 36 months, at no cost.

  • Just got my miles from this this past week! I test drove the vehicle in April '06.

Surprised me, I'd forgotten about this.

    Frenchie Flyer

  • did it post as 2.5 or 5K? were you targetted?

    It was 2,500.

  • great idea waiting till just before they close, guess I know what I'm doing this weekend.

    Thanks OP.

I got mine signed yesterday. I walked in 15 minutes to close and explained that there is no chance of me buying the car, but I will if I have to. The sales manager took out his pen and signed it while saying, "Normally you have to do the test drive, but its late and I want to go home."

    :) :) :)

  • Got my 2500 miles as well. Mailed the certificate in Feb 14.

  • This offer has different terms from the previous one, I don't see why you can't earn both. :D

Discussed in the AA forum... cert says limit one test drive offer per AAdvantage member.

Also appears to be targeted, based on the disclaimer on the page.

  • I signed up for the 250-mile Aadvantage Lincoln promotion 2 weeks ago and my miles still have not posted to my AA.com account... Does anyone know how long it takes for the 250 miles to post?

I haven't test-driven the car yet but I wonder how long the 2,500 miles take to post too...

I called AAdvantage customer support and they told me they haven't heard about this 250 mile posting/promotion at all! Any feedback you have would be highly appreciated. Thanks!

  • I sent in first for 2500 miles which I got eventually, then I sent another one for 5000 miles and got another 2500 credited today. Not bad.

    You got both?

  • Thanks

  • Today Lincoln says that the 250 mile demo part is no longer available.

  • I thank you.
    My wife thanks you.

We'll see if the kids thank you in about 8-10 weeks!

    Very good find.

    Thanks.

  • It didn't take very long - someone's already listed the 250 mile offer one ebay, see http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=5665426811&ru=http%3A%2F%2Fsearch.ebay.com%3A80%2Fsearch%2Fse arch.dll%3Ffrom%3DR40%26satitle%3D5665426811%26fvi %3D1

  • thank you very much!

I wonder if this is going to be like the Toyota $40 gift card. I didn't even need to test drive the car, I was just up front with the salesman, and he signed the paper for me.

Not that I don't mind doing a test drive, but I just bought a new car last September and don't want to be bothered with a car salesman calling me every day asking if I'm still interested.

  • Thank you very much OP.

  • One person earlier mentioned being turned down by a dealer who demanded an "original certificate." And the fine print does say "only original certificates accepted."

So here's my question: how many people have been succesful bringing in computer print outs of the certificate?

    -Ryan

  • Great find! Thanks so much!!

  • Easiest 2750 miles I've gotten in a long time. Thanks.

  • Great way to get 250 AAdvantage miles!!!

  • After I printed out form-blank-on Internet, I took it to Lincoln Dealer and they said it needs to be form generated from AA and filled out by AA, and mailed by AA to you. Then you bring it into dealer for their signature.
Based on all prior posts this appears to be erroneous. ?????

You should have asked them to go to the website to check it out themselves...

    Lots.

Here's the thing... I'm guessing that the "orig certs" clause was meant as a condition of acceptance AFTER you mail them (because they don't want you to send photocopies). In any case, an original signature will make any document "original," a concept that apparently many car dealers/managers fail to grasp.

  • Awesome...thanks OP!!!

  • Well I'm glad it was posted here. I've got some orphan AA miles so this will keep my account active for another 3 years, but I wouldn't go to AA just to look for things like this (or the other hotel & airline chains in hopes of catching this).

Has anyone gone to a dealer & said I'll test drive if you want me to but I'm really not in the buying mode/would you sign this cert? The sales rep might not want to go through all the sales motions if s/he know you're not interested. They might just it to save their time.

    Cheers.

Edited to add: The sign-up offer (vs test drive) says one per AAdventage Member, so if you used all of your family's info but just your own AA #, you're probably only going to get the 250miles.

  • Drove the Zephyr-very nice car.

  • Gift.... card...?

Did you get the details??? :p

The same thought crossed my mind, but I was slightly embarrassed to ask...

  • 250 miles X 4 accounts posted. Thanks!

  • Thanks!

  • 5000 miles posted to my AA account today. ^

I actually sent in the signed cert for 2500 miles.

    Thanks OP!!!

So you're saying you didn't receive the 5,000 mile form at all, you sent in the 2,500 mile form, and they posted 5,000 miles??

  • Checked Mrs. Macken7, two kids and my own account to find that the 250 points have posted for the four of us. Now to get to the car dealers place.

  • Thank you--hopefully these miles post-will be enough to keep one of our accounts active for another 36 months, at no cost.

    EXACTLY my first thought.

    Thanks to the OP!

  • Thanks...just got reinstated for another 36 months! :) ^

I mailed it on February 13

Same here. 2,500 new miles in my AAdvantage account. ^

  • My 250 miles posted in May 2006

  • They offer 5000 miles now:
    http://www.aa.com/content/images/eSummary/Partner_Offer_Pages/Retail/Lincoln/LincolnSplashMarch06.htm
    doh!!

  • My uncle in San Juan called me earlier today... he actually had a salesman get short with him yesterday morning at Autos Vega Lincoln in SJU when he was up front about his intentions. Then he ended up doing a test drive later that evening in Fajardo Ford/Lincoln, east of SJU, and was denied when it came time to fill out the form.

He's getting really mad about this, anyone have any suggestions? As of now, he's going to swing by Fajardo Ford/Lincoln on Monday morning and speak to a sales manager about this, since all that was required was a test drive- nothing more.

  • When I asked this I was referring to using

each family members unique AA number as opposed to putting them all in my account.. but I did use the same mailing address and I split the email addresses up into two accounts. Not sure if that will matter.

So I would think that that met the criteria of one per aadvantage member

I will take the test drive cert in myself though, just not sure that they will sign the ones for the young ones :D

Edited to add: The sign-up offer (vs test drive) says one per AAdventage Member, so if you used all of your family's info but just your own AA #, you're probably only going to get the 250miles.

  • Thanks!

  • Complain and yee shall receive...

I just waited 1 more week and I recieved my 2500 miles, plus a suprise, an extra 2500 miles. Wow, that was awesome, thanks Lincoln/AA.

    Can you provide phone numbers??

  • And why does the seller have a very limited supply?

    Quantity: 3 available

The seller's printer must need a new toner cartridge. :D

  • Ok... so I actually test drove the Zephyr and I might add that though I've never considered purchasing a Lincoln, I was impressed by the elegance of the car.

Anyways, I will edit this post and remove the Dealer Code if FTs start posting that this is unethical :(

Well.... here you go seoulmanjr, this dealer is in Hayward, CA

I won't comment if this is ethical or not...

But, something tells me that if too many certificates are submitted with this dealer code, they may do some more digging into the "problem." They may look at the dealer signature, and if it's not from a real employee, the claim might be denied.

  • My 2500 miles just posted!

I mailed it on February 13

  • Well, count my vote as "unethical." Your posting will lead to forgery and fraud. These test drive programs are great tools to get free miles. Cheating them will certainly devalue their worth of these programs and may lead to fewer of them being offered.

YMMV.

Good enough point -- I'm not full of qualms about it, but I'll keep a blank one in the car andif I pass a Lincoln dealership, I'll pull in. If I don't get a chance and the end of the promo is bearing down on me, it'll be the borrowed code on my forms.

Forgery and fraud? Those are pretty specific legal terms that don't necessarily fit into this situation. While I agree that the ethics are suspect for some, and it may be against the companies' intentions/rules, that doesn't make it illegal.

    peace,
    ~Ben~

  • 5000 miles posted to my AA account today. ^

I actually sent in the signed cert for 2500 miles.

    Thanks OP!!!

Nice... I'm going on the end of month 2 and still no points...

  • good pick up, I'll be in MD in the next week or two, looks like thats how I'll earn mine too ^

Small print says "no test drive required in Maryland". I'll be at my company office in MAryland this week and the Lincoln dealership is about a mile away. It looks like I'll be earning a quick 2,500 AA miles at lunchtime. ^

I'll post an update after I go.

  • My 250 posted already about 3-5 days after filling out the form.

  • Small print says "no test drive required in Maryland".
I'll post an update after I go.

Thanks! That didn't even catch my eye when I first saw that. So, I guess one just drops by an MD Lincoln dealer and looks at the car, gets a signature, and done. Nice.

  • Noticed my 250 miles today. Thanks

  • The test drive form says that the miles will be posted in 8-10 weeks. If you just did the drive March 20, no reason to panic. I'd give it a few more weeks.

The AAdvantage customer service # is 1-800-421-0600.

Not panicking - just thought I'd report - seems like earlier test drives got posted quicker :)

  • Mine 250 posted today too.

  • The Dealer Code (Number) can be found on the Manufacturer’s Suggested Price sticker in the window of all the new cars. That way you do not have to even talk to anyone!
    :D

OK... This is FT, so I want to take this along it's logical progression. Can anyone just post a dealer code or two and save some other FTers a trip down to the local auto-mall? Or how about a PM even?

If as many people say they're just going in to get the form signed and aren't interested in the car or the test drive, why waste my/their time and actually go to the dealership?

Anybody wanna help me out here?

    peace,
    ~Ben~

  • My 2500 miles just posted!

I mailed it on February 13

Ah, here's the thread. I was hoping someone would find it. Mine also posted tonight, but I told everyone in the 5K thread.

  • Thanks easy 250 miles.

  • Discussed in the AA forum... cert says limit one test drive offer per AAdvantage member.

Also appears to be targeted, based on the disclaimer on the page.

Great. NOW I'm targeted, but only after completing the 2,500 offer! :(

  • I did this test drive around 3/20 - sent it in immediately - miles still hasn't posted.

  • Great find. 5 of us took advantage of the 250 offer. Not sure how many will make it for the test drive. Thanks

  • No worth the test drive for 2500 miles, but an easy 250

  • Good enough point -- I'm not full of qualms about it, but I'll keep a blank one in the car andif I pass a Lincoln dealership, I'll pull in. If I don't get a chance and the end of the promo is bearing down on me, it'll be the borrowed code on my forms.

Fraud = deception deliberately practiced in order to secure unfair or unlawful gain.

Deception => filling in the dealer code yourself.
    Deliberate => you did it.

  • Either way, I wouldn't feel bad about it. Seems that there isn't a Salesman out there that wants to go on a test drive with someone that isn't going to buy a car.

I would feel worse if I lead them on like I was interested. Be upfront and tell them your not buying, and they will sign it on the spot and let you go. Look at the window sticker, and you didn't have to walk as far. :)

We found the one. We drove up in our 2006 Chrysler 300C and handed her the paperwork. We asked if we really need to drive since we didn't need a new car - she said yes. Took 20 minutes for both of us to drive and get it signed. Still worth it to get 10,000 miles between us.

  • Well.... here you go seoulmanjr, this dealer is in Hayward, CA

Sweet! If you ever need a car rental discount coupon, send me a PM and I'll put one in the mail for you, rjbass! :D

    peace,

  • I signed up for the 250-mile Aadvantage Lincoln promotion 2 weeks ago and my miles still have not posted to my AA.com account... Does anyone know how long it takes for the 250 miles to post?

I haven't test-driven the car yet but I wonder how long the 2,500 miles take to post too...

I called AAdvantage customer support and they told me they haven't heard about this 250 mile posting/promotion at all! Any feedback you have would be highly appreciated. Thanks!

For the 250 miles, it seems to vary from person to person. Many people had theirs post immediately, others within a week. Mine took almost a month. The T&C say 8-10 weeks, so I think you probably just have to wait it out.

  • My 250 miles posted within 1 week and today I just spent 5 minutes at the dealership earning the 2500 miles.

    Thanks OP!!

  • ^ Sweet Dude! Thanks! :)

  • You got both?

I got the 250 twice, guess since I clicked on via both URLs 1 for the 2500 an dthe other for the 5000 and fulled them both out, now to find the form for the test drive for 5000, so that I can get another 2500.

Just got to Love these promos.

  • That's the dictionary definition, not the legal ("real world") one, which was my point. If you read my post above, you'd see that I essentially agree with you, but think it's silly when people start talking about these things in terms of "mail fraud", "theft of services", etc in FT threads with made-up legalese.

    peace,
    ~Ben~

I did, and I wasn't trying to argue against you. But throw in "...causing a loss or injury to the other party" and you have the legal definition of fraud, in which using a dealership's code on the form would fall under.

Legally, factually, conceptually, morally... it's all fraud.

  • My 250 posted on 2/14 as well. I mailed my test drive certificate for the 2500-mile bonus on 2/10.

  • Got mine too! Thanks, OP.

  • Ah, here's the thread. I was hoping someone would find it. Mine also posted tonight, but I told everyone in the 5K thread.

Same here. My family and I had our miles posted early this morning. Yea, baby!! :D ^

  • Very nice. Thanks!

I'll post an update after I go.

I went to King Lincoln-Mercury in Gaithersburg, MD and was quickly greeted by a very nice saleswoman named Zee. She saw the form in my hand, asked me if I was interested in the car or simply wanting the miles. I laughed and told her I just wanted the miles. She quickly signed the form and inputted the required info and told me to have a nice day. 3 minutes max.

    ^

  • Indeed ! Double thanks !

  • Did you receive an email targeting you for the 5k offer? If not, there's not much you can do. There are several reports in the AA forum of people who were not targeted for the 5k offer who sent it in anyway and only got 2.5k.

Agreed. Unless you specifically got the 5,000 mile offer, you have no case. If you did get the 5,000 mile offer and they only credited 2,500, call AAdvantage customer service.

  • Does anyone know of a cooperative dealer in the Cincinnati area?

  • ....Has anyone gone to a dealer & said I'll test drive if you want me to but I'm really not in the buying mode/would you sign this cert? The sales rep might not want to go through all the sales motions if s/he know you're not interested. They might just it to save their time.....

    That's certainly my plan.

  • I think the extra 2,500 is because they changed the promo from 2,500 to 5,000 in points

  • Sweet. Thanks for the easy 250. I don't pass by any Lincoln dealerships during my usual travels so I doubt I'll ever go through the motions of trying to get the 2500. But the 250 took all of about ten seconds.

BTW, not that I'd ever buy one, but I saw a Zephyr on the road today...looked kinda cool. I usually think of Lincolns as big cars my grandpa might like, but this one was a bit hipper than that.

  • What was their reasoning for not signing the form? It's a waste of his time, but I agree that he'll need to go back on Monday and talk to the manager, who will probably sign it with no hassle.
I spoke to him again today, he left a voicemail with the sales manager and hasn't heard back yet. He's coming up to MCO for a conference on Thursday, so I'm giving him a lift to the Lincoln Dealership that signed my form to get his form signed.

  • Thanks! I'm actually doing some test drives for a new car this weekend already. Great timing!

  • Can't believe it was that easy!
    Thanks!! ^ ^ ^

  • A very good and extremely easy 2750 AA Miles. Oh! I would love them, but I don't fly AA. If only UA or NW had something like this.

You can dump AA miles into HHonors: 5,000 AA --> 10,000 Hilton points, which never expire. @:-)

  • 5000 miles posted to my AA account today. ^

I actually sent in the signed cert for 2500 miles.

    Thanks OP!!!

Interesting result. So maybe the certs are independent of what one was actually targeted for.

  • Thank you!
    :)

  • thanks easy miles

  • The test drive form says that the miles will be posted in 8-10 weeks. If you just did the drive March 20, no reason to panic. I'd give it a few more weeks.

Based on all prior posts this appears to be erroneous. ?????

Had similar idiotic experience with local dealer. The manager said that the form says "only original certificate will be accepted" and refused to sign my form printed from the internet. Go figure. Another good reason never buy a Lincoln.

  • nice find and btw... for some of you... this is flyer talk.. not lawyer talk...

    just chill out...

    and do the right thing...

  • OK... This is FT, so I want to take this along it's logical progression. Can anyone just post a dealer code or two and save some other FTers a trip down to the local auto-mall? Or how about a PM even?

If you feel like cheating in this manner, why not just look the codes up on their website? Or would that be too much trouble?

  • My 2500 miles just posted!

I mailed it on February 13

My 2,500 just posted. Mailed the certificate on February 15. I was not targeted, just followed the advise in the first post...

    Thanks to dlouise37 ^

  • Have been meaning to visit my Mercury Dealer since I was fortunate to learn of this opportunity here on FT....guess my procrastination paid off for a change!!!

  • Easy Points.

  • Noticed my 250 miles today. Thanks

co-sign!!! and I also went into a dealer, showed him the paper and he said.."I'll just sign it, not worth the car drive just to get those miles,,have fun!"

  • Thanks!

  • It didn't take very long - someone's already listed the 250 mile offer one ebay...I wonder if Suzanne Dodson is a FT'er...

  • Thanks OP.

I got mine signed yesterday. I walked in 15 minutes to close and explained that there is no chance of me buying the car, but I will if I have to. The sales manager took out his pen and signed it while saying, "Normally you have to do the test drive, but its late and I want to go home."

    :) :) :)

  • thanks -- a quick & easy 250 miles!

  • FWIW
The gift card was for $10 gas or $10 Home Depot. It expired 2/28/06. I received the card in the mail and took it to the same dealer who signed my 2,500 mile test drive cert.

  • Mod: shouldn't this be on Miles Buzz or AA?

  • Thanks so much. I just signed up myself, my wife and my mom. I will also tell friends about this.

  • Complain and yee shall receive...

I just waited 1 more week and I recieved my 2500 miles, plus a suprise, an extra 2500 miles. Wow, that was awesome, thanks Lincoln/AA.
Did both 2500 mile awards post at the same time, or did they post at different time intervals? Thanks.

  • I did the movie for me, wife and our three children. Mrs. Nehopper got hers as did I, but nothing for the youngsters (all too young to drive). Was this qualified by being of driving age or in majority? Any similar experience?

  • Im in Australia and they dont sell lincolns :(

any one know a friendly dealer who can sign a form
