I love this part
Shipping insurance
US $2.00 Optional
And why does the seller have a very limited supply?
Quantity: 3 available
I just waited 1 more week and I recieved my 2500 miles, plus a suprise, an extra 2500 miles. Wow, that was awesome, thanks Lincoln/AA.
But.. it's an electronic form you fill out.
:)
*********************
At the top of the confirmation page it says:
"you should be receiving your 250 AAdvantage® bonus miles shortly. "
The fine print says:
"Please allow 8–10 weeks for posting of miles."
Wow, I did not know shortly was that long.
Guess the car must not be selling that well, which doesn't surprise me at all. I sat in the car for a few minutes, and as an entry level luxury, it just doesn't compare with the likes of the CTS, Acura TL, or Lexus ES. Even a Maxima is more appealing if you ask me.
My 250 miles had posted within a few days -- it was really quick.
i did the same
saleman asked me if i was interested in buying a car
i said no, but i'll do a test drive if neccesary for the signature
he asked me what kind of car i drive
i said honda
he left and came back a minute later with the cert signed
Neither we have any plans on buying a car anytime soon :D
Yes, that's what I am saying. I reponded immediately to the original offer of 2500 miles.
Did you receive an email targeting you for the 5k offer? If not, there's not much you can do. There are several reports in the AA forum of people who were not targeted for the 5k offer who sent it in anyway and only got 2.5k.
Since this is about miles, and very easy miles at that, I think this belongs in MilesBuzz. However, far be it from me to put a duplicate post there and suffer the rath of the moderators. Maybe someone else will take the risk.
It is on my website, which may be enough...
Americans should envy your access to Holden SS Utes. I wish I could get one with left side steering wheel. :D
i guess am i better off going for 2500 assured or risking it for 5k :)
If I'm ever in the market from a Lincoln, he's got my business
(especially on a busy saturday afternoon) ;)
Good to hear! Might even be a nice thing to give the salesman a little tip for his trouble.
These points posted today. ^
^
I just successfully filled out the form from the original post for the 250 miles. I don't think I'll have time to do the test drive since I have absolutely no plans on buying a new car any time soon.
This is stated on the first page of the link provided in post #1:
Must be 18 years of age or older and have a valid driver's license.
He agreed that he would stop by to let me ask about a test drive. As I approached the salesman hubby hung way back. The salesman was very kind and understanding. He signed the two forms. He told me he appreciated my being upfront about not wanting a test drive at this time. Sheepish husband and I were on our way in two minutes. I did get the salesman's card and will happily recommend him should the opportunity arise.
Brought me closer to one million on AA! ^
I actually sent in the signed cert for 2500 miles.
Thanks OP!!!

Well, count my vote as "unethical." Your posting will lead to forgery and fraud. These test drive programs are great tools to get free miles. Cheating them will certainly devalue the worth of these programs and may lead to fewer of them being offered.
As noted by almost everyone, following the rules takes only a few minutes. A visit to the dealership has a value to both Lincoln and the dealer, whether one takes a test drive or not. If someone says the dealer is too far away, that is a personal choice based on that person’s own cost/reward valuation of the program.
Cheating is cheating. YMMV.
Gift.... card...?
Did you get the details??? :p
did it post as 2.5 or 5K? were you targetted?
Anyone do this in Canada with success ?
cheers,
Thanks for the clarification. With so many free miles at stake, I'm going to give it a shot. As a 26 year old in a Lincoln dealership, I hope they don't give me a hard time.
Lots.
Here's the thing... I'm guessing that the "orig certs" clause was meant as a condition of acceptance AFTER you mail them (because they don't want you to send photocopies). In any case, an original signature will make any document "original," a concept that apparently many car dealers/managers fail to grasp.
I agree about the car... of the Mazda6 Quints (Mazda6, Ford Mondeo (Europe) , Ford Fusion (US/CDN Version), Mercury Milan, Lincoln Zephyr) it's my least favorite. If I had to pick any of those cars, probably the Mazdaspeed6 or the Milan.
Forgery and fraud? Those are pretty specific legal terms that don't necessarily fit into this situation. While I agree that the ethics are suspect for some, and it may be against the companies' intentions/rules, that doesn't make it illegal.
peace,

"... it'll be the borrowed code on my forms...." .... and you have to 'sign' it!
Don't do it! Never!
I went today to the first dealer. They didn't have a Zephyr ... SOLD OUT.
Went to the next dealer about 20 miles away. They also SOLD OUT, but had one .... I know this dealership, they are the largest Lincoln dealer in the Nation, and I have purchased 5 Lincolns from the salesman, who is 82 and has sold the most Lincolns worldwide, he is in the Guinnes Book of Fame. BTW, I was the first prospect who showed up with this test drive promotion.
(especially on a busy saturday afternoon) ;)
In my opinion, given the description of the SPAM forum being for sites with points or so-called "alternative" forums, I'd opt for the AA forum over SPAM, were I to post it myself. Other people's mileage may vary, however.
Mike
They're gonna know because they ask for your driver license before you take a test drive.
No, they haven't posted for me, either, and it's been about a week. Maybe it's a Massachusetts thing :)
My local dealer was happy to sign the certificate without a test drive. But, as she went off in search of the dealer number, I took a walk around the showroom, and saw no Lincolns. I think they might only carry Fords, although the dealership came up on the Lincoln website when I put in the zipcode.
As Example A of the paranoia that springs from the relentless pursuit of free miles: do you think they (they=AA, Ford, THEM!) may deny me the miles if they realize I couldn't have actually driven a Lincoln because the dealership doesn't stock Lincolns?
It may take me a while to respond if there is a reply, as I'll be safely jammed inside my tinfoil hat :D
I wonder how long before these start appearing on eBay (not necessarily from this FT'er). Seems like if you could get a dealer to sign several of them it would be fairly easy to make some $$$ on eBay if they would allow the auctions.............

The ebay seller is peddling electronic forms, but he only has three? Now, that's hilarious! :D :D
Anyone else still waiting for the 250 miles to post? I know it says 8-10 weeks, but many others seem to already have the miles in their account...
What was their reasoning for not signing the form? It's a waste of his time, but I agree that he'll need to go back on Monday and talk to the manager, who will probably sign it with no hassle.
My wife thanks you.
We'll see if the kids thank you in about 8-10 weeks!
Well, the kids thank you too!
But yeah, you got a dumb dealership. A) never buy from them, and B) you can use those forms you print yourself. You should've just said, "Can you just humor me and fill it out anyway?"
"We're sorry the online demo offer is no longer available, but you can still earn your American Airlines AAdvantage® bonus miles by test driving or purchasing a new Lincoln Zephyr.
Hi Sharon,
Some folks reported doing it that way last year when Buick offered a Marriott Rewards $100 Bonus Buck certificate for taking a test drive. That's not how I got mine, however; I don't mind driving a nice car even though I haven't found any yet that beat the brand I buy.
I don't suppose it's impossible, though, and as I said, I do enjoy driving a nice demonstrator.
Thanks to the OP for the tip.

What the deuce?!
So... should we "take" another test drive for 5000 mi?
It might even be worth going on a test drive for 2500 miles ^
Have they posted for you as well, lmagnott?
Yes, my 250 miles posted on Friday, I think.
Fine.. that is the dictionary definition.
Would you like to tell us the legal definition and explain how getting the code and dealer name second handed and using it to fill out a form to get 2500 miles is not fraud, in a legal sense?
peace,
~Ben~
i've gotten absolutely none
Dealer signed several forms for me - they'd never seen these. Going back later with another stack. ^
Just swing by a dealership and be truthful... I did, and was in and out of the dealership in in 2 minutes..... 1 minute which I spent looking at a Ford GT in the showroom.
Thanks to dlouise37 ^
Well, this offer wasn't targeted. It's on the aa.com website for anyone to view. The 5000 mile one is the targeted one.
I know im not flying on AA this year so these 250 extra miles will help me :D
Deception => filling in the dealer code yourself.
Deliberate => you did it.
Gain => Miles, which are worth a monetary value to both you and Lincoln (who probably bought the miles to hand out).
In any case, the REAL WORLD reason not to do it is, we don't want to give AA partners a reason NOT to do promos like this again, for fear of "cheaters." Really, it took me 2 minutes of my time to get 2500 miles... everyone should too, it ain't that hard.
That's the dictionary definition, not the legal ("real world") one, which was my point. If you read my post above, you'd see that I essentially agree with you, but think it's silly when people start talking about these things in terms of "mail fraud", "theft of services", etc in FT threads with made-up legalese.
peace,
~Ben~
Did you both get the special 5,000 mile e-mail?
~Ben~
Ok... so I actually test drove the Zephyr and I might add that though I've never considered purchasing a Lincoln, I was impressed by the elegance of the car.
Anyways, I will edit this post and remove the info if FTs start posting that this is unethical :(
Well.... here you go seoulmanjr, this dealer is in Hayward, CA
edited to remove info
Based on all prior posts this appears to be erroneous. ?????
No big deal. Just fill it out yourself and send it in! :D
Surprised me, I'd forgotten about this.
Frenchie Flyer
It was 2,500.
Thanks OP.
I got mine signed yesterday. I walked in 15 minutes to close and explained that there is no chance of me buying the car, but I will if I have to. The sales manager took out his pen and signed it while saying, "Normally you have to do the test drive, but its late and I want to go home."
:) :) :)

To follow up on my own post, my Lincoln Zephyr miles posted today. After the eShopping miles roamed in and out of my account, I believe they somehow shook the Zephyr miles loose after 3 weeks.
Have they posted for you as well, lmagnott?
Discussed in the AA forum... cert says limit one test drive offer per AAdvantage member.
Also appears to be targeted, based on the disclaimer on the page.
I haven't test-driven the car yet but I wonder how long the 2,500 miles take to post too...
I called AAdvantage customer support and they told me they haven't heard about this 250 mile posting/promotion at all! Any feedback you have would be highly appreciated. Thanks!
You got both?
My wife thanks you.
We'll see if the kids thank you in about 8-10 weeks!
No test drive here. Just 90 seconds of time
http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/showpost.php?p=5303169&postcount=4
And someone from the other thread said they sent in th 5K form and only got 2.5K.

Which raises the question of where should notice of these kinds of offers be posted? Is it a Site with Points and Miles(SPAM) or is it an AA only datum?
"13. Members who do not earn points in any 12 month consecutive month period may be removed from the Program and, if so, are subject to forfeiture of all accumulated points. The account may be reactivated by the member taking one of the following actions:
1. stay at an HHonors hotel, thus reactivating membership; or
2. earn HHonors points through any third party source of HHonors point accumulation
Failure to take action (a) or (b) or described above within the prescribed 90-day period will result in the closure of the Member's account and the forfeiture of all accumulated points. Easy 250 for me and my wife. Serouisly condsidering the test drive for the 2,500.
-Chris
You bet.
Very good find.
Thanks.
I wonder if this is going to be like the Toyota $40 gift card. I didn't even need to test drive the car, I was just up front with the salesman, and he signed the paper for me.
Not that I don't mind doing a test drive, but I just bought a new car last September and don't want to be bothered with a car salesman calling me every day asking if I'm still interested.
So here's my question: how many people have been succesful bringing in computer print outs of the certificate?
-Ryan
Based on all prior posts this appears to be erroneous. ?????
You should have asked them to go to the website to check it out themselves...
So here's my question: how many people have been succesful bringing in computer print outs of the certificate?

Lots.

Has anyone gone to a dealer & said I'll test drive if you want me to but I'm really not in the buying mode/would you sign this cert? The sales rep might not want to go through all the sales motions if s/he know you're not interested. They might just it to save their time.
Cheers.
Edited to add: The sign-up offer (vs test drive) says one per AAdventage Member, so if you used all of your family's info but just your own AA #, you're probably only going to get the 250miles.
Did you get the details??? :p
The same thought crossed my mind, but I was slightly embarrassed to ask...
I actually sent in the signed cert for 2500 miles.
Thanks OP!!!
So you're saying you didn't receive the 5,000 mile form at all, you sent in the 2,500 mile form, and they posted 5,000 miles??
EXACTLY my first thought.
Thanks to the OP!

Same here. 2,500 new miles in my AAdvantage account. ^
http://www.aa.com/content/images/eSummary/Partner_Offer_Pages/Retail/Lincoln/LincolnSplashMarch06.htm
doh!!
He's getting really mad about this, anyone have any suggestions? As of now, he's going to swing by Fajardo Ford/Lincoln on Monday morning and speak to a sales manager about this, since all that was required was a test drive- nothing more.
each family members unique AA number as opposed to putting them all in my account.. but I did use the same mailing address and I split the email addresses up into two accounts. Not sure if that will matter.
So I would think that that met the criteria of one per aadvantage member
I will take the test drive cert in myself though, just not sure that they will sign the ones for the young ones :D
Edited to add: The sign-up offer (vs test drive) says one per AAdventage Member, so if you used all of your family's info but just your own AA #, you're probably only going to get the 250miles.
I just waited 1 more week and I recieved my 2500 miles, plus a suprise, an extra 2500 miles. Wow, that was awesome, thanks Lincoln/AA.
Can you provide phone numbers??

The seller's printer must need a new toner cartridge. :D
Anyways, I will edit this post and remove the Dealer Code if FTs start posting that this is unethical :(
Well.... here you go seoulmanjr, this dealer is in Hayward, CA
I won't comment if this is ethical or not...
But, something tells me that if too many certificates are submitted with this dealer code, they may do some more digging into the "problem." They may look at the dealer signature, and if it's not from a real employee, the claim might be denied.
I mailed it on February 13

Good enough point -- I'm not full of qualms about it, but I'll keep a blank one in the car andif I pass a Lincoln dealership, I'll pull in. If I don't get a chance and the end of the promo is bearing down on me, it'll be the borrowed code on my forms.
Forgery and fraud? Those are pretty specific legal terms that don't necessarily fit into this situation. While I agree that the ethics are suspect for some, and it may be against the companies' intentions/rules, that doesn't make it illegal.

I actually sent in the signed cert for 2500 miles.
Thanks OP!!!
Nice... I'm going on the end of month 2 and still no points...
Small print says "no test drive required in Maryland". I'll be at my company office in MAryland this week and the Lincoln dealership is about a mile away. It looks like I'll be earning a quick 2,500 AA miles at lunchtime. ^
I'll post an update after I go.
I'll post an update after I go.
Thanks! That didn't even catch my eye when I first saw that. So, I guess one just drops by an MD Lincoln dealer and looks at the car, gets a signature, and done. Nice.
The AAdvantage customer service # is 1-800-421-0600.
Not panicking - just thought I'd report - seems like earlier test drives got posted quicker :)
:D
OK... This is FT, so I want to take this along it's logical progression. Can anyone just post a dealer code or two and save some other FTers a trip down to the local auto-mall? Or how about a PM even?
If as many people say they're just going in to get the form signed and aren't interested in the car or the test drive, why waste my/their time and actually go to the dealership?
Anybody wanna help me out here?
peace,
~Ben~

Ah, here's the thread. I was hoping someone would find it. Mine also posted tonight, but I told everyone in the 5K thread.
I'll post an update after I go.
Also appears to be targeted, based on the disclaimer on the page.
Great. NOW I'm targeted, but only after completing the 2,500 offer! :(

Fraud = deception deliberately practiced in order to secure unfair or unlawful gain.
Deception => filling in the dealer code yourself.
Deliberate => you did it.
I would feel worse if I lead them on like I was interested. Be upfront and tell them your not buying, and they will sign it on the spot and let you go. Look at the window sticker, and you didn't have to walk as far. :)
We found the one. We drove up in our 2006 Chrysler 300C and handed her the paperwork. We asked if we really need to drive since we didn't need a new car - she said yes. Took 20 minutes for both of us to drive and get it signed. Still worth it to get 10,000 miles between us.
Sweet! If you ever need a car rental discount coupon, send me a PM and I'll put one in the mail for you, rjbass! :D
peace,
~Ben~
I haven't test-driven the car yet but I wonder how long the 2,500 miles take to post too...
I called AAdvantage customer support and they told me they haven't heard about this 250 mile posting/promotion at all! Any feedback you have would be highly appreciated. Thanks!
For the 250 miles, it seems to vary from person to person. Many people had theirs post immediately, others within a week. Mine took almost a month. The T&C say 8-10 weeks, so I think you probably just have to wait it out.
Thanks OP!!
I got the 250 twice, guess since I clicked on via both URLs 1 for the 2500 an dthe other for the 5000 and fulled them both out, now to find the form for the test drive for 5000, so that I can get another 2500.
Just got to Love these promos.
peace,
~Ben~
I did, and I wasn't trying to argue against you. But throw in "...causing a loss or injury to the other party" and you have the legal definition of fraud, in which using a dealership's code on the form would fall under.
Legally, factually, conceptually, morally... it's all fraud.
Same here. My family and I had our miles posted early this morning. Yea, baby!! :D ^
I'll post an update after I go.
I went to King Lincoln-Mercury in Gaithersburg, MD and was quickly greeted by a very nice saleswoman named Zee. She saw the form in my hand, asked me if I was interested in the car or simply wanting the miles. I laughed and told her I just wanted the miles. She quickly signed the form and inputted the required info and told me to have a nice day. 3 minutes max.
^
Agreed. Unless you specifically got the 5,000 mile offer, you have no case. If you did get the 5,000 mile offer and they only credited 2,500, call AAdvantage customer service.
That's certainly my plan.
BTW, not that I'd ever buy one, but I saw a Zephyr on the road today...looked kinda cool. I usually think of Lincolns as big cars my grandpa might like, but this one was a bit hipper than that.
I spoke to him again today, he left a voicemail with the sales manager and hasn't heard back yet. He's coming up to MCO for a conference on Thursday, so I'm giving him a lift to the Lincoln Dealership that signed my form to get his form signed.
Thanks!! ^ ^ ^
You can dump AA miles into HHonors: 5,000 AA --> 10,000 Hilton points, which never expire. @:-)
I actually sent in the signed cert for 2500 miles.
Thanks OP!!!
Interesting result. So maybe the certs are independent of what one was actually targeted for.
:)
The AAdvantage customer service # is 1-800-421-0600.
Based on all prior posts this appears to be erroneous. ?????
Had similar idiotic experience with local dealer. The manager said that the form says "only original certificate will be accepted" and refused to sign my form printed from the internet. Go figure. Another good reason never buy a Lincoln.
just chill out...
and do the right thing...
If as many people say they're just going in to get the form signed and aren't interested in the car or the test drive, why waste my/their time and actually go to the dealership?
Anybody wanna help me out here?
peace,
~Ben~
If you feel like cheating in this manner, why not just look the codes up on their website? Or would that be too much trouble?
I mailed it on February 13
My 2,500 just posted. Mailed the certificate on February 15. I was not targeted, just followed the advise in the first post...
Thanks to dlouise37 ^
co-sign!!! and I also went into a dealer, showed him the paper and he said.."I'll just sign it, not worth the car drive just to get those miles,,have fun!"
I got mine signed yesterday. I walked in 15 minutes to close and explained that there is no chance of me buying the car, but I will if I have to. The sales manager took out his pen and signed it while saying, "Normally you have to do the test drive, but its late and I want to go home."
:) :) :)
The gift card was for $10 gas or $10 Home Depot. It expired 2/28/06. I received the card in the mail and took it to the same dealer who signed my 2,500 mile test drive cert.
I just waited 1 more week and I recieved my 2500 miles, plus a suprise, an extra 2500 miles. Wow, that was awesome, thanks Lincoln/AA.
Did both 2500 mile awards post at the same time, or did they post at different time intervals? Thanks.
:D
Either way, I wouldn't feel bad about it. Seems that there isn't a Salesman out there that wants to go on a test drive with someone that isn't going to buy a car.
I would feel worse if I lead them on like I was interested. Be upfront and tell them your not buying, and they will sign it on the spot and let you go. Look at the window sticker, and you didn't have to walk as far. :)
any one know a friendly dealer who can sign a form
