email links in access

  • I'm trying to find a way to use my all my contact people in my database to directly email them when I click on their name. Is there a way to do that?

  • Hi Cal9

    Is your contact db set up with a field for email addresses?
    If so:
    1. Go to the form in design view,
    2. mouse over the field where the email address is and right click.
    You will get a menu.
    3. At the bottom of the menu you will see 'Properties' - select it.
    4. A small dialog will appear which should say something like 'TextBox: followed by the name of that field.
    Select the 'Format' tab.
    5. Scroll to the bottom - you should see an option that says, "Is Hyperlink" and in the white area it will probably say 'No' - set it to 'yes' by double clicking in that white area.

    Thats it! Whatever is in that field is now a hyperlink so, be sure that it is an email or web address.
