Michael accepts an invitation from Ryan to be a guest speaker at his business school. Meanwhile Dwight battles wits with a bat that gets loose in the office while Pam is entered in her first art show.
Also this is Joss Whedon directed episode we heard about.
Although, the moment with Dwight and Creed was the best thing maybe ever. In the whole show's history I don't think I've ever laughed that hard (and everything close probably involved Creed).
"And everyone thinks [Ryan]'s a tease!"
True on both counts. I'm sure they choose carefully the episodes in which guest directors take. There may not have been much in terms of"Whedonish" elements that stood out to you, but in my opinion, every guest directed episodes feels slightly different than normal. That isn't a bad thing either, by any means.
I think the "that's our building and we sell paper" is one of the best moments in the series to date. I love how Michael is when he lets his guard down. I also LOVED the "people wont go out of business" line. He said it like he REALLY believed it. Despite being idiotic most of the time, Michael believes in what he does. The very idea that Dunder Mifflin could be obsolete in five or ten years is just unbelievable to him.
The show can be so ridiculous sometimes but the writers do a great job of addressing real workplace issues once in a while.
Agreed again.
I really loved the way Michael was with pam at the end. I loved how he told her he was proud of her and said "that's our building... and we sell paper" That was a CLASSIC michael moment. Then when she asks if he has something in his pocket and he says "Chunky.... you want half?" The whole thing just felt so sincere.
Yeah, I think that was one of my favorite moments this season easy. For me, it kind of was what pam needed after Roy's comments, and after she observed Oscar and that other guy. Really enjoyed that end scene for some reason.
Into, stop drinking Joss Whedon Hateraid:
Alright, maybe I was being a tad unfair. I enjoyed the episode, but there was something strange about it. OH wait...Joss Whedon HAD to get a vampire reference into it.:bdead
Still funny stuff though.:)

Wow that scene at the end with Michael and Pam is a perfect example of why this is the best show on television.
Pam and Jim. Sorry but this is their story. Karen's just a detour... a much needed detour but a detour none-the-less and I think its going to end badly eventually.
I'm on Team Pam. Also, it looks like Roy's overdoing the nice-guy act now. He went too far with his "i brought my brother and no one else showed up" comment. Too bad, he was starting to grow on me.
Jim and Karen working together on Dwight was perfect. Also, I loved how Jim yawned when his relationship with Karen was discussed. She's still keeping him up all night with "talks."
Meredith with her head in the bag and then Dwight saying "your welcome."
Dwight: I don’t have a lot of experience with vampires. But I have hunted werewolves. I shot one once, but by the time I got to it, it had turned back into my neighbor’s dog.
Michael: You know what else is facing five Goliaths? America. Al-Qaeda. Global warming. Sex predators. Mercury poisoning. So do we just give up?
Michael: There are four kinds of business. Tourism. Food service. Railroads. And sales. And hospitals/manufacturing. And air travel.
So much Office-goodness.
Give me a ****ing break.
Jim desperately needs to team with Pam again. This Karen stuff is too forced and out of place, not to mention the compatibility factor. Karen is good for the show, not for Jim.
It was a decent episode. Felt strange in a handful of scenes. And then I figured out Joss Whedon directed it.:lol
Also..the Pam/Roy thing is so obviously temporary. His comment about him bringing his brother and noone else showing was definitely not the thing to say.:lol
"Your art was the best art of all the art." It's a nice try, but it's not a sincere interest. And he doesn't get what Pam cares about or wants when he says "I looked at all of them, can I go now?" She wants him there for support, she can actually show him the art anytime. He's not really a jerk, he's just not going to actualy care about what Pam cares about.
I actually really want to see Pam and Toby. Something about it's creepy, and Toby's so old and he's dating the girl from the gym and Pam's back with Roy and the natural idea is Karen goes psychobitch and Pam and Jim get together. But what I WANT to see is Pam-Toby. Toby actually does care about Pam and Pam actually is suportive of Toby.
If michael had the brains to match his heart he'd be brilliant.
It's not Al-Quaeda, it's El Qualleda. Which I'm guessing is a Mexican terrorist program that strikes small towns in Pennsylvania with immigration schemes. :lol
You know what the best part of the vampire stuff was? Jim working with Karen to get at Dwight, instead of Pam. As it should be.
"do you... have something in your pocket?"
"a chunky."
:rofl
reminded me of the type of thing they would always do on arrested development. have a small running joke that payed off at the end when you didnt expect it.
This is my unreasonable demand.
:(

But Karen's so awesome! She deserves better than being a plot device.
